Vanishing oils or vanishing lubricants are often used in light duty forming operation where it is desirable for the component to come away from the press either dry or in a near dry state.

An example would be laminates which are stamped from thin sheet metal and immediately stacked and welded. A typical application for this type of forming work would be the laminated stator of an electric motor (as in the picture).

Vanishing oils are used to lubricate the stamping process and if the laminates are not dry before being stacked the lubricant can build up in the finished component causing issues of porosity or smoking during the welding process.

Delta has a full range of Vanishing Oils with different levels of lubricity and base fluids which will influence both speed of evaporation and the odour of the product in use.

The VOC level (Volatile Organic Compounds) of an evaporating fluid can be important in a working environment which does not have good ventilation or extraction. In these applications Delta can supply VOC free vanishing oils of varying lubricity. These products are odourless and can go a long way to improving operator health and safety and, importantly, have a low environmental impact on air quality.

Whatever the vanishing oil application, Delta has the right product for you to sell and market under your own label and brand.
